Where to Meet Like-Minded Female Entrepreneurs

Starting a business or beginning your path to becoming a female entrepreneur can be hard sometimes. There are so many things to learn and figure out, which is why it’s recommended to meet link-minded female entrepreneurs who can help and support you on your journey. Meeting like-minded female entrepreneurs isn’t too hard as there are so many just like you who want to meet you, too.

  1. Facebook Groups. Facebook groups are one of the most effective ways to meet link-minded female entrepreneurs especially if you are just starting out. All you have to do is go on your Facebook account and in the search bar, search for “female entrepreneurs” or anything related to that. You will be able to find a variety of different groups for you to choose from and join. These Facebook groups are perfect for meeting other female entrepreneurs because often times, there will be members asking to meet up so you’ll be able to find and meet female entrepreneurs in your city/area as well. These Facebook groups are also great for discussions, tips, support and encouragement so if you feel stuck, these women will give you all the tips and career advice you need to help you along your journey to becoming a female entrepreneur. Facebook groups are a great way to build connections with other members and to have your own little “girl gang.”  

  2. Events. Events are a perfect way to network and meet like-minded female entrepreneurs. This will of course depend on your business niche but afterwards, you can search on social media or search results for any events near you. Attending these events is a great way to network with others, build connections and form relationships. So if you’re interested in learning more about building your own business, you can search on Facebook or even Google with “business events near me” and then, you will be able to see the different events that are happening in your area.

  3. Networking Events. This is similar to events but instead, you will be there to specifically network with other individuals. Regular events are a great way to build connections whereas networking events is a great way to introduce yourself to people in your niche and to form a bond with them and network. It’s great to bring your own business cards as well so that you can exchange them with anyone you meet. You want to make sure your contact information is available at all time and there’s no better way to do that than a business card so have them ready! And be ready to ask others for their business cards so that you guys can stay connected.

  4. Social Media. Social media is a perfect way to meet others. In fact, because of social media, many female entrepreneurs have been able to meet and form friendships. Don’t be afraid to make the first move. If you follow someone you admire that you would like to work with one day, reach you to them. Let them know that you love what they do and that you’d love to collaborate with them one day. Or if you see someone is in your area, don’t be afraid to message them, introduce yourself and ask if they’d potentially like to meet up. You never know what can happen if you don’t make the first move!

  5. Influencer Platforms. Although influencer platforms are meant to help you score collaborations, they are still a great way to meet others. Octoly is an influencer platform that you have to apply to but they have a section in their app where you can host meetups, attend events and network with others. Style Collective is also a popular influencer platform where you pay a fee of $10 a month but you get access to a ton of information like how to network, how to pitch to brands, how to create a blog, etc. And then, they have a designated Facebook group where you can connect with other members and potentially host meetups as well. So if you are looking to meet like-minded female entrepreneurs like yourself, you can search social media or search engines for influencer platforms to join.

  6. LinkedIn. Believe it or not but LinkedIn is a great way to network with others. People often see LinkedIn as a way to find jobs but it is a great way to network. Don’t be afraid to make the first move and message someone you admire. This can be that you find what they shared to be resourceful and you just wanted to thank them or if you had questions about the event they may be hosting. LinkedIn is a perfect way to find people in your area to connect with but it’s also a great way to stay on top of business news, events and anything happening in your area.

  7. Conferences. Related to networking events, sometimes, there are conferences in your area where you can sign up for. This is a great way to connect with other entrepreneurs. Have a game plan prepared, a business proposal, business cards and an opened-mind. People who attend conferences want to learn and also connect with others so you’ll already have two things in common with the people there!

  8. Finally, family and friends. You never know who others know until you ask! Let your family and friends know that you are serious about your future and you would love to meet others like yourself. Most of the time, your family or friends would love to help you meet and connect with others. Maybe your sibling knows someone who can help you on your path or maybe your friend knows someone who’s hosting an event. When in doubt, talk your friends and family about your career goals and they’ll be happy to help.

Meeting like-minded female entrepreneurs doesn’t have to be hard. It can be as simple as your sister setting up a business meeting with you and her boss. To meet like-minded female entrepreneurs, you would first have to make the first move and want to connect with others. When you decide you’re ready for this, then meeting like-minded female entrepreneurs becomes easier.
